Santa's Workshop

On Monday December 15 the gym at Our Lady of Guadalupe turned into Santa’s Workshop.
The intent of this workshop was to celebrate with the children and their families, ‘The spirit of Christmas’. After many hours of planning, both kindergarten rooms decided to set Santa’s Workshop to be celebrated on Monday December 15, 2014. The Morning of the event there was lot of hustling and bustling of tables being set, decorations going up the walls of the gym, getting the festive music together and all the stations were in place. Around 12:30pm, the parents who volunteered their time made their way to the gym to help with the stations. The children were organized according to their color groups. The parents were given instructions as to what is expected from each station and they had a guide to follow. We had nine stations and they were synchronized in the following manner: Craft station #1, Craft station #2, Craft Station #3, Play dough and cookie cutters, Decorating prebaked cookies, Music and sing-along, Christmas stories, Christmas movie, and the fun-filled event concluded with a hot chocolate station. Every 10mins, the elf rang the bell and the children rotated clockwise in order to experience each station, so everyone would have a fun-filled day. And indeed they did!!!  Oh… there was a hidden surprise and while they were enjoying a cup of hot chocolate, loud jiggling bells brought in Santa Claus who marched in with candy canes and the children were beaming with joy and excitement and the day came to a closure with children dancing to the tunes of Christmas. We like to thank Mrs.Tinmouth and Ms. Bonnicks classes in organizing this event along with all the parents who came to assist with the event. Merry Christmas to all…
