Toronto Catholic District School Board

For Parents

The teaching/learning excellence at Our Lady of Lourdes is supported by regular involvement of parents, guardians, caregivers, grandparents and all those who touch the lives of the children who attend our school.  It may be as simple as accompanying a class on a trip, ensuring a routine for homework completion, conversing with a child about TV shows they watch, volunteering for the Nutrition Program or being politically active in the community.

Our Lady of Lourdes has a Nutrition Program.  Children are given a healthy, well- balanced, nutritional snack daily.  There is a small voluntary monetary donation; however, all children receive a snack.  The Nutrition Program also enables the school to provide hands-on volunteer work and skill development for many of our parents.  The Nutrition Program is involved in Literacy Week, the Teddy Bear Picnic, baking with classrooms and other activities that enliven the school.  Our Lady of Lourdes Nutrition Program has been a model for other volunteers from school communities who come in and learn from us how to set up and run a healthy Nutrition Program in their schools and neighbourhoods.

Our Lady of Lourdes’ dress code consists of a white top and navy blue bottoms (no denim).  These items can be purchased at any store. Click below to download a PDF of our uniform flyer.

The school may be the hub of the formal learning community; however, it is the community itself which is the foundation that bolsters this school in meeting the needs of all the children.
