Farewell Collage.jpg

...and remember my sentimental friend that a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.”

L. Frank Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Dear Parents,

Once again we find ourselves at the end of another school yearAt this time, one is drawn to reflection on the year that was and for me it is time to reflect on the last five years.  It is time to say good-bye to this wonderful community.  Effective September, 2016 you will have a new principal and vice principal.  As always, I am filled with gratitude for all that this community has done in support of Catholic education and I am in awe of the students I have served over the last five years.  In this year of Family, we came together in October to bless the new kindergarten addition. The parent community has continually supported the academic, emotional and spiritual development of our students. For this, I am truly thankful.

As I move to another school, Our Lady of Peace will have a special place in my heart.  I will remember the good times and the challenges.  It has been a pleasure to work with such a talented group of students and staffOur production of The Wizard of Oz is etched in my memory; the talent shows, the Montreal trips, the various sports, the mural we are in the process of completing. Stand strong and Be You, today and in the days to come.

The Our Lady of Peace staff is very dedicated and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with each and every one of them, from our secretarial staff, custodial staff, educational assistants, early childhood educators to our teachers.  My sincerest wish is that you experience a time of renewal and joy this summerMy humblest thanks and sincerest best wishes for a blessed summer and new school year in September.  Ms. Sandra Figliomeni will be the new principal of Our Lady of Peace and Mr. David Whicher will be the new Vice Principal.

It has been a pleasure to work with Mrs. Hordienko for the last two years and I know she will be missed by the community.  Mrs. Hordienko is being promoted to principal of St. Demetrius.  I wish her much success and best wishes in this new beginning.

I always end the morning announcements with, May the Spirit of Peace be your guide”.  I wish you much peace in the years to come and remember that I will treasure my years at Our Lady of Peace Catholic School. God Bless!
