Charity Hockey Game

On Remembrance Day, a team teachers faced a team of grade 7 and 8 students in an exciting and challenging hockey game to support our veterans.  Classes came out to cheer the two teams on as they played a tough game. The students won again this year, of course!  Good sportsmanship was shown and great memories were made.

 Roots of Empathy Program

Every three weeks, Ms. Silla's Gr. 2/3 class receives a visit from Baby Emily Vlasschaert  to promote emotional literacy among the students.  Mr. Comella, our guidance teacher, coaches the students how to observe the baby's development and label the baby's feelings.  Students become more competent in understanding their own feelings and the feelings of others and are therefore less likely to physically, psychologically and emotionally hurt each other. Through the Roots of Empathy Program, students learn how to challenge cruelty and injustice.
