Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Grant Announcement at Our Lady of Sorrows
Representatives from the Toronto Catholic District School Board made a special announcement related to funding the Board received through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Grant for the improvement of the sports field at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School on Tuesday, March 21st.
The event gave parents, students and other community stakeholders an opportunity to celebrate the Grant and stand witness to the wonderful partnership that made a dream of a new sports field become a reality.
A total of $304,193 in funding was provided through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure grant. Trustee Ann Andrachuk made the official announcement in the library at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School. Following the announcement, students presented a Canada 150 thank you banner.
Mary Zervas, a member of the school's CSPC, cut a ceremonial cake and all participated in the signing of a commemorative soccer ball that will be housed in a display case at the school to mark the celebration.
The community is grateful to the Federal Government for their support, and extend a special thank you to Troy Beharry in the TCDSB Partnership Development Office for his assistance in pursuing this grant opportunity.
