Students in each division: primary, junior and intermediate have been busy collaboratively solving multi-step problems that have connections to the real world with varying degrees of complexity. Students chose their own strategies and in some instances determined for themselves an unknown question. Mental math, computation, explicit use of recorded strategies, use of English and French task specific math vocabulary and reflection based on student determined success criteria and feedback from peers shaped the process and the final solution.
