Corus Coding Event

On Wednesday, May 15th, 16 grade six students with their teacher participated in the Coding Quest Arcade, which was held at the Corus Centre alongside the waterfront of Lake Ontario. Students were selected from the class based on their coding skills using Scratch. The topic for the inquiry was “Create a game about endangered species in Canada.” Everyone had worked hard and were prepared to showcase their video games to students and staff from other schools. We were not sure about the success of our four video games but at least we tried. We played with video games created by students from other TCDSB and TDSB schools, and even met some TV celebrities along the way. Overall, it was a very exciting day for us and worthy way to represent our school. I would not change any thing from this experience.
