Snow Tubing - Grades 5 and 6

On Thursday February 6th, the grades five and six classes of Precious Blood went on a trip to Lakeridge Ski Resort for snow tubing. Upon arrival at Lakeridge, all students were eager to get out onto the slope but first there was a safety explanation by the snow tubing staff. Then the moment came for all of us to make our way down to the towing area with our large tubes.

As we lined up at the bottom of the hill to await our turn, everyone was filled with excitement. While being towed up to the top of the hill, we could look out onto the scenery of the Lakeridge Ski Resort, and watch skiers traveling up the slope on the ski lifts. When we arrived at the top of the hill, we hastily formed small groups or even chose solo for our speeding venture down the huge hill. The rush down the hill blew ice and snow into our faces, and gradually our ride came to a halt. Then we gathered our tow ropes on the tubes and walked quickly to the line in preparation for our next tow up the hill.

Around lunch time we all went inside to eat, where we had the option to buy food and drinks to enjoy as we warmed up from the cold. After a while we came outside again to continue tubing. At the end of a fun and busy day of tubing, everyone sat in the bus and came back to school satisfied. Tubing was a very exciting experience and I am glad to have been able to participate in the activity.
