Father Francis Ching's Visit to Precious Blood
Father Francis, who is a Companions of the Cross priest at St. Timothy's Parish, visited Precious Blood on Tuesday, May 26 to speak to the students and staff about the virtue of compassion. Prior to the main assembly, the grades 6 and 8 students had the privilege to listen to a talk from Father Francis followed by a question and answer session. Students were able to recognize that blindness did not prevent Father Francis from living a normal life.
One of the insights into Father Francis' life as a priest was that he could say Mass using bluetooth technology with an ipad that read out to him the parts of the Mass, and he in turn spoke out to the congregation. Father Francis' message to the students was that by accepting his blindness, he could thank God for his life and carry out his daily duties as a priest.
During the main assembly, Father Francis was invited to speak to the students and staff of the school about the virtue of compassion. With Father Steve, Father Francis distributed certificates to the students who were recognized by their teachers as worthy virtue of the month recipients.
