Cricket Tournament
On Tuesday, May 30th, 2017, 15 students from Mr. Cosgrove's grade six class attended a cricket tournament at Centenniel Park (Etobicoke), which was organized by Cricket Canada with the support of Toronto Catholic District School Board. Six elementary teams and six secondary teams competed in the one-day competition.
We played two games and were defeated in both by Maria Goretti (36 to 16) and Blessed Sacrament (29 to 15) . We had so much fun in spite of losing the two games but gained so much from the experience of playing against other schools.
The highlight for us students was wearing 'real' cricket gear for the first time. Each batter wore leg pads and gloves.
Finally, we appreciated the delicious served lunch that was provided for the teams, and for Mr. Oswald Jones from Cricket Canada assisting with the preparation of our team for the tournament. It was an amazing experience!
