Terry Fox 2016
On September 16, Precious Blood held an assembly for staff and students to remind everyone about the importance of Terry Fox as an inspiration to all Canadians. At the assembly, we had a guest speaker who spoke about how Terry Fox ran 42 kilometres every day with cancer, which eventually took his life during his Marathon of Hope.
As well, the school community was invited to fundraise for cancer research. All money collected by the school would be sent to the Terry Fox Foundation. On Monday, September 26, the whole school participated in a walk and run for Terry Fox. All students were issued with stickers saying, “Terry ran for me. I am running for …..” Cross-country runners, led by Mr. Vigliatore ran two or three times around a one kilometre block course. The other students and staff walked around an alternative course and finished off the event with music provided by Mr. Sedef.
