Pioneer Communities Presentation

photo1 (2) (1).jpg

On May 18th, Grade 3/4 and Grade 6/7 classes participated in a presentation at Sacred Heart on the Loyalists. Loyalists were American colonists, of different ethnic backgrounds, who supported the British cause during the American Revolution (1775–83). Tens of thousands migrated to British North Americaduring and after the revolutionary war — boosting the population and heavily influencing the politics and culture of what would become Canada. The presenter’s family were Loyalists 5 generations ago. Students discussed  Pioneer Communities with a visual presentation and hands on activities.
