Toronto Catholic District School Board

Principal`s Message

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  I am pleased to be starting my second year at Santa Maria.  Our school is dedicated to nurturing children academically, physically and spiritually through our faith-based curriculum and caring Catholic environment.  We are into the second year of our pastoral Plan – Harmonizing our Faith Through Family, Parish and School.  We will be working to high light the year of school. This year, we would like to perform a school play.  Continue to check the website for updates, newsletters and monthly calendars.

Our regular school hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Our school grounds are supervised from 8:45a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.   Lunchtime is from 11:45 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. with both a morning and an afternoon recess. Children from Gr.1 to Gr.8 go outdoors (weather permitting) for both morning and afternoon recesses, and for 40 minutes of the noon-hour break.  Santa Maria also offers the Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program.  Four and five year old students play and learn within the same hours as the rest of the students in the school.

Santa Maria also has a Nutrition program which provides healthy meals for students which includes dairy products, fruits, vegetables and whole grain products.

Santa Maria has approximately 220 students and we are a school with heart.

Santa Maria School Prayer

Our Heavenly Father

Today we offer you ourselves

With arms to reach out,

Hands to care,

And

Hearts to give love.

Santa Maria, Patron of our school,

Fill us with your grace this day,

So as to love, to care and to share,

Always, with one another.

Amen
