The Learning Enrichment Centre, also called the Resource Room, is located in Room 142. The purpose of the space is to offer students with a Special Education Identification (eg. LD, Autism, Language Impairment, Gifted) a location to access:
-a quiet learning space
-additional support for course work
-test taking assistance
A Special Education teacher is in supervision of the Centre at all times and is available to assist students with their course work, tests, exams, learning skills and course selection and post-secondary transition planning. Students may also request to meet with their Resource Teacher to discuss their Learning Needs, Accommodations and their IEP (Individual Education Plan)
While the Learning Enrichment Centre is designed for the use of Students with an Identification we do seek support students with other ad hoc needs. These include students with a temporary medical condition, anxiety, or Student Success needs. When we have space available the room may be accessed by regular students, but priority is always maintained for students with a Special Education need.
