O’Connor Student Wins Outstanding High School Student - Science Award (OHSS-SA) Program

The “Outstanding High School Student - Science Award (OHSS-SA)” Program is supported by the Ontario Research Fund (Government of Ontario), the University of Toronto Scarborough, and private sector industry.
 
Amanda Yokingco from Senator O’Connor College School has been selected as a winner of an Outstanding High School Student - Science Award (OHSS-SA) for 2017.
                                                                                                                    
Six awards will be presented in total. Each of the Outstanding High School Student–Science Award recipients will receive $250, a framed award certificate and the opportunity to spend a day at the University of Toronto Scarborough partnered with a graduate student researcher (PhD student). The day will involve a campus tour, lunch, and interactive lab demonstrations of a variety of current research projects at the university, as well as experience part of a university level lecture. This unique experience will allow the students to be immersed in a science research environment for the day.  The University’s Vice-Principal or the President of one of the sponsoring companies will present the awards to the students.
