News From the Grade 6 class

Grade 6 Trip to Ripley’s Aquarium

On December 15, 2015, the grade 6s from Ms. Law’s class went to Ripley’s Aquarium in downtown.  They had lots of fun exploring the variety of fishes and other aquatic organisms.  There were lots of fun games and activities, including a challenge making custom planktons.  The goal was to make it sink the slowest in a bucket of water.  The Ripley’s record was 11 seconds, and one of our group’s time was 10.68 seconds.  So close!  The grade 6s learned the importance of some aquatic species and how they help in our lives.  For example, plankton produce 50% of the world’s oxygen.  The day was great and educational.  We all had a fin-tastic time!
