Toronto Catholic District School Board

Celebrating Exemplary Practices
2011-2012 Award Winner
For the 13th year, Toronto Catholic District School Board acknowledged innovative projects and programs at TCDSB schools with the Exemplary Practice Awards, which took place on April 23rd. Among this year’s award winners was St. Angela Catholic School for its “Do It Yourself” initiative.
Have you ever tried demonstrating something to your class yet many students had difficulty observing the lesson due to manipulatives and texts being too small to see? Have your students used excessive class time as they attempted to write out their answers on the board? Have you spent hours making those overheads? At St. Angela Catholic School these issues have been simplified by the use of a Do It Yourself: Document Camera. The DIY Camera is something that is affordable and easy to use.  A flexible arm web cam paired with an LED projector can simplify the lives of teachers and most importantly enhance the learning of all students in our classrooms.

It allows for differentiated instruction to come to life in all classrooms from Kindergarten to Grade 8, as well as specialty programs.
