CSPC - Catholic School Parent Council

With approval from the Board, the Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) recently underwent a name change to Catholic School Parents Council (CPSC). News items & resource documents uploaded prior to September 1st, 2015 may have their titles changed to reflect Catholic School Parents Council (CSPC), the text contained within the documents and pages may still contain the name Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC).  Please note that these two titles are synonymous.

Purpose- Function-Obligations of CSPC
 - Improve pupil achievements
 - Enhance the accountability of the education system to the parents
 - CSPC will function in an advisory role to the principal and make  recommendations to the principal and where appropriate, to the Board.
Obligations of CSPC
    1. If necessary establish committees to make recommendations to CSPC - one member of CSPC must be on committee
    2. Develop by laws to include:
           a.Election procedures 
           b.Handling conflict of interest 
              Establish conflict resolution process
    3. Not engage in fundraising unless: 
           a.Purpose is approved by the principal/board 
           b.Funds are used in accordance with board policy
    4. Consult with parents about matters under consideration by CSPC
    5. Communicate regularly with parents and community to seek their views and preferences.
    6. Work cooperatively with principal to improve pupil achievement
    7. Act as a link to the community in support of school programs

Mission of St. Anselm's CSPC
    1. Create atmosphere of mutual cooperation between parents / principal / teachers in our environment
    2. Foster positive relationship with principal / teachers for benefit of students 
    3. Assist principal and teacher in communication with parent group
    4. Assist parent group in communication with principal and teachers 
    5. Foster spirit of communication between home / school / community 
    6. Enhance communication with:
          a. Web presence 
          b. Information sent home with children 
          c. Information posted at school
