Principal's Message

Dear St. Barnabas Catholic School Community,
Welcome to our school website! It is with great pleasure that we are able to communicate with you about our school. We wish to make this an ever-improving vehicle for information gathering and two-way communication. By involving all members of our community we will be able to offer the best and most comprehensive education to our students. Our hope is that you use this site to access newsletters, calendars, and information about events taking place at our school.

It truly is an honour and privilege to have been chosen to serve this community.  St. Barnabas Catholic School is a dynamic and spirit-filled community that offers diverse services and learning opportunities.  Our excellent teaching staff is dedicated, caring and professional in their work to improve student achievement and the well-being of all children who attend our school. We thank our parent community who work together with us to support our children to grow intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Our MISSION at St. Barnabas Catholic School is to foster 21st century fluencies, enhance our environmental initiatives, and sustain a positive catholic school culture.  Our VISION is to create and sustain a nurturing Catholic, eco friendly, 21st century environment that enhances learning.  Academically, we strive to highlight learning goals, utilize success criteria and provide ongoing descriptive feedback.  The old adage “it takes a village to raise a child” still has much meaning for education today, as it takes a school community to educate a child.  Let us work together to teach our children and learn together.

Our hope at St. Barnabas is that, as we learn, we continue to mold a unique school culture in which all members share our Catholic values as seen in the way we relate to God, to ourselves, and to others.
We expect that these values manifest themselves in the daily observance of our faith; in the manner in which we treat one another; and in our striving to do the best we can in the roles to which we are placed - whether that be student, teacher, support staff, parent, priest, service provider, or member of the broader community.

As we gather daily as a Catholic community, let us remember our call as Catholic people to put Christ at the forefront of everything we do.
God Bless,
Peter Fiztpatrick
