Toronto Catholic District School Board

Principal's Message

St Boniface Catholic School continues to be the ‘home’ for many families and staff.  We welcome all our new families who have joined the St. Boniface community this school year.  As the new principal, I am very delighted to be part of the St. Boniface Catholic School ‘family’ and community.  I look forward to celebrating with the students, staff and parent community the many joys and successes as the 2017-2018 school year promises to be filled with a variety of learning experiences and opportunities through classroom programming, extracurricular activities, and special community events.

In 2010, St. Boniface Catholic School celebrated its 50th Anniversary.  We continue to celebrate this milestone and are grateful for the school’s history.  We continue to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of everyone affiliated with St. Boniface, both past, present and for years to come.

As a staff, we are committed to providing the students the opportunity to engage in authentic and rich performance tasks that enable students to demonstrate their greatest potential and achieve the highest level of success.  As the administrator, I continue to support Literacy and Numeracy skills by building on inquiry-based professional learning and instructional practices that contributes to the culture of learning in our school.  This is transferred into the classroom and continues to be the main focus of our students’ learning through students understanding how they learn best, by educators identifying the strengths and needs of our students in order to program and develop learning goals, incorporating differentiated instruction and differentiated evaluation, incorporating intervention practices, utilizing the expertise of our support staff and through the integration of technology as we move into 21st century learning.

At St. Boniface Catholic School, our primary focus is on fostering a Christ-centered learning environment.  This in turn encompasses a safe, inclusive, healthy, and enjoyable learning environment, where students, staff, parents, and the parish come together regularly to celebrate the Eucharist.  This year marks the start of our new three year Faith Focus of FAITH, HOPE and CHARITY.  As a faith community we continue to teach and foster Gospel values as we maintain the traditions of the Church.  It is through our daily interactions with each other, that students see us modeling the greatest commandment to, ‘Love God with all our might, and to Love thy neighbour.’ We each have an important role and responsibility in the academic, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical well-being of our students.

As Catholic education moves forward, we, as a family, are faced with many challenges and we must be open to adapt to the changing needs of our students and be committed to seeking excellence in all areas of the curriculum and ensuring success for all.
