On a beautiful day at the University of Toronto yesterday, the St. Clare track and field team continued with its winning ways.  We sent 9 of the city's best athletes and they did not disappoint.

Grade 6's Serena Centritto, Shellane Peart and Nathan Reid, grade 7's Michael Louro, Michael Visconti, Matthew Lawford, Brendan Bernardo and Cristian Ortega, and grade 8 Annabella Portante had a fantastic day.  In fact, it was one for both the St. Clare and school board record books.

While they all did very well, of particular note St. Clare had two third place finishers with Annabella in the grade 8 long jump and Serena in the grade 6 high jump.  We had the grade 7 boys relay team finish in 2nd place, an all-time best for St. Clare in recent memory.  Lastly we had Nathan Reid not only win the gold in both the grade 6 long jump and 100 metres, he set a Toronto Catholic District School Board record by finishing his 100 metre race in a blazing 12.1 seconds.  Maybe one day Nathan will beat Usain Bolt's world record at an Olympic Games.  With his determination and ability, anything is possible.

Once again it was a fantastic year for the whole St. Clare track team and you should all be very proud of your efforts.
