(November 2018)

We hope that all of you enjoyed a spooktacular Hallowe’en!
As November begins, so does our QSP magazine drive! Your child will be attending a kick-off assembly on the morning of Monday, November 5th and coming home with a cool lanyard and all sorts of information. Please be sure to thoroughly read the QSP package for details. We are looking forward to an exciting 7-school-day campaign! This is our CSPC’s biggest fundraiser (we earn 40% profit from almost every sale!) and a very fun time for the kids with lots of prizes and daily rewards, and we are asking for your support! Please note that in addition to magazines, *new* this year, we will be selling COOKIE DOUGH – with all profits going to our school of course! Online orders can be placed anytime at www.qsp.ca. The final deadline for all orders (in order to count towards the prizes) is Tuesday, November 13th.
Our Fall International Walk to School day took place on October 12th, with over 71% of students participating this time around.  It is a great event that reminds our children to make healthy lifestyle choices.  Congratulations to Mr. Marriott’s class and Mr. Arduini’s class for having the highest percentage of walkers!  Those classes will enjoy a pizza party courtesy of CSPC.  Thanks to Didy Perugini for organizing this great event and to all of the volunteers who helped out!
Thanks so much to those who participated in our second annual FundScrip Gift Card fundraiser!  It was a success and we raised almost $2000!  The gift cards should arrive within the next couple of weeks and we will send an email with several pick-up dates.  If the cards are not picked up, we will automatically send them home with your child.  Thanks again to Didy Perugini for all of her hard work on this initiative.
CSPC’s Class Rep program has officially begun! By now, you should have received at least a first email from your Class Rep. If you have not, there may be a problem with your email address – please contact the main office or write to us at cspc.stclement@tcdsb.org to have this resolved! Class Reps send out a lot of information throughout the year that you won’t want to miss!
Please save the date of Wednesday, November 21st at 7pm to join your fellow parents for a special deferred CSPC/Ontario Ministry of Education Pro-Grant Presentation by Paul Davis on the topic of "Social Networking Safety". In addition to the evening session for parents, Paul and his team will be providing the students in our Intermediate and Junior grades with age specific/appropriate presentations during that day.  Paul Davis is not only a social networking educator, but also has over 27 years’ experience in Information Technology. Paul's presentations are not only extremely current and informative, but highly sought-after by schools, police departments and border agencies. This is a Pro-Grant presentation not to be missed. More detailed information and registration details will be coming out shortly.

Help prepare your 10-14-year-old child to stay at home alone safely! One evening this winter, we will be running a 2-hour Home Alone course for students that are in Grades 5 and up, as well as their parents. The course is free of charge and run by the City of Toronto. Stay tuned for more info!

And please keep an eye out: There will be information coming home soon about our new Christmas fundraiser – St. Clement’s first annual Christmas Market, which will be taking place on Thursday, December 6th! This event will feature locally-made crafts, goods and services, snacks and drinks, and festive cheer in one night. We hope to see you there! If you are a vendor and/or momterpreneur that may be interested in selling your goods at the Market, and/or would like to find out more information, please contact us at cspc.stclement@tcdsb.org.
For those who are participating, don’t forget that this month’s Pizza Lunches are being held on Friday, November 9th and Thursday, November 29th (please note the change in date). The first Subway Lunch of the year will take place on Thursday, November 22nd.

Our next CSPC meeting is being held on Tuesday, November 20th. We hope to see many of you there!
