WE Walk For Water

How far would you walk to collect clean water for your family? Every day, women and children around the world spend 200 million hours fetching water from the only sources available—distant and often polluted lakes, rivers or streams.

The reality is that many First Nations communities have limited or no access to clean water resources, when Canada has the world’s second-largest supply of fresh water.  While clean water rushes out of the faucets in our kitchens, the showerheads in our bathrooms, the hoses in the yards, and the fountains at school, many aboriginal communities in the country are living with boil water advisories and “do not consume” warnings.

A minimum $1.00 donation is requested for all students in support of programs designed to bring safe drinking water to the Indigenous communities in Northern Ontario.  Specials thanks to Gr. 7 Me to We ambassadors (Joy, Mariana,Pascal, Josh V, Vanesssa, Julia and Lucy), and Mme. Morrison for running today's event.   Thank you for your cooperation and support.
