Fence Art Unveiling at St. Cyril Catholic School

During the 2016-17 academic year, a small group of Gr. 5 and 6 students, along with their teacher Helene Lavertu, collaborated with artist Anya Mielniczek to come up with ideas to transform the school into an art display for the school fence along Kempford Blvd.

On Friday, November 3, the official unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new fence art at St. Cyril took place.

Principal Rocchina Leone began the presentation by welcoming students, staff and special guests. Four students led the group in prayer, in both English and French and the choir sang two beautiful songs. Councillor John Filion, TCDSB Director of Education Rory McGuckin, Superintendent Peter Aguiar and a St. Cyril Parent Council representative were all on hand to thank all those involved in this special project and express their excitement to see the art displayed outside the school.
