Argos Spirit Day at St. Elizabeth

On Monday, January 22, members of the Toronto Argonauts Football team, winners of the 105th Grey Cup, visited St. Elizabeth Catholic School. Matthew Black (Argos defensive back) along with their team mascot, Jason the Argonaut and team equipment manager brought the Grey Cup to celebrate Argos Spirit Day with staff, students, parents and special guests.
Students lead everyone in prayer to start the event, followed by a special student lead Argos poem. Students had the opportunity to ask Matthew Black questions about his football career and what it was like to win the Grey Cup. The Argos also highlighted the importance of teamwork and bullying prevention as part of their Huddle Up program. At the end of the event, everyone joined together to sing the Argos Fight Song.
Trustee Ann Andrachuk joined the celebration and thanked the Toronto Argonauts for making this visit possible. Students and staff dressed in double blue and white to honour the champions, and also decorated the school gym for this special visit.
