St. Gabriel Lalemant Catholic School opened its doors to the community in September, 1983 with a beautiful new building and an enthusiastic group of staff, students and parents. The official opening ceremonies took place on May 23, 1984.
The school was named after a Jesuit priest who left his home in France to come to North America in an attempt to convert the Huron Indians to the Catholic faith. In giving his life for this cause, he left behind a legacy of courage and faithfulness.
