Toronto Catholic District School Board

Principal's Message

Welcome to St. Gregory Catholic School Website!

St. Gregory Catholic School has 643 students ranging from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. It is an extremely active school with a variety of extra-curricular activities. We have a full range of sports teams that include soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country and track and field. In addition we have house leagues for all our students, a fitness club each morning open to all students, as well as a hockey and swim team. We also offer clubs that specialize in the environment, chess, choir, art and calligraphy.

One of our major goals is to be an important part of the community. Our Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) sponsors many events throughout the year such as Family Fun Skate and Bingo Night etc., and is instrumental in raising funds for many worthy causes throughout the year. Another important part of community involvement is our close relationship with St. Gregory Church. Fr. John visits the classes on a regular basis and says Mass each month for the school. He also co-ordinates instruction for the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation. We hope to have two Community Masses this year on a Sunday.

St. Gregory Catholic School strives to educate the whole student; meaning academic, spiritual, social and emotional. Our School Learning and Improvement Plan reflects this with an emphasis not only on improving literacy and numeracy, but with working towards a safe, inclusive environment that empowers our students and provides for leadership opportunities. Framing all of this is our Catholic beliefs and how this can be integrated into the whole learning experience.

Please take a moment and look through our website. You will learn about our school dress code, fundraising, CSAC initiatives and our close relationship with the Parish. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school.

Principal: Mr. J. Pannozzo
