Information Sheet for Cross-Country Athletes

Teams will be sitting on the grass outside the stadium.  Please be prepared for any inclement weather; bring a TARP if you have one or a garbage bag or blanket to sit on, or a plastic fold-up chair.

Things to bring to the meet:
• a hat and gloves in case it is cold
• sunscreen
• water (2 litres)
• extra socks and shoes or boots for the walk-through
• rain gear

Nutritional information
It is very important to be HYDRATED before a cross-country meet – which means you’ve got to drink LOTS of water.  Start drinking plenty of water 2 days before the meet (it’s not enough to just drink on the day of the meet).
Good food and snacks to bring:
• banana
• bagel
• berries
• granola bars or breakfast bars (make sure they don’t have lots of sugar)
• crackers and hummus
• NO JUNK FOOD SUCH AS DONUTS, COOKIES, CHIPS, CANDY, OR POP!

It’s important to eat a good breakfast in the morning – bagels, pancakes, and oatmeal are great breakfast foods along with fruit.
And the most important thing on the day of the meet is to ...  HAVE FUN!
