Toronto Catholic District School Board

Message from the Principal

Welcome and thank you for visiting the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School website! It is truly a privilege and honour to be chosen to lead and serve this Catholic community.  It is my hope that you use this website to access our newsletters, calendars, events, and news about our school.

St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School is a welcoming, nurturing, and caring community that offers diverse services and learning opportunities.  Our devoted and mindful teaching staff is dedicated, caring, and professional in their work to improve student achievement and well-being of all children who attend our school.  We thank our parents and community members who work together with us to nurture the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth of our children through a partnership of home, parish, and school.

Academically, we strive to implement learning goals, utilize success criteria, and provide ongoing descriptive feedback in order to support student success.  But we cannot do it alone!  The old adage “it takes a village to raise a child” still has much meaning for us today, as it takes a committed community to educate our children.  Let us make it our goal to work together to teach our children and learn together.

We must not forget that as we learn, we always intertwine our Catholic values and beliefs into everything we do.  From the daily observances of our faith, the way we treat one another, to living out our gospel values, let us all remember that we are Catholic individuals called to serve as Jesus's disciples.

At St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School, we strive to meet the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, live out our Catholic values and virtues, and learn in a Christ-centered environment.

I look forward to serving the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School community!

Your in Catholic Education,

Karen Quan King Thompson
