Out of the Cold Initiative
On Thursday, December 4, teachers and friends gathered at the Tara Inn on Kingston Rd. in Scarborough to compete for the coveted Cliff Clavin Cup in teacher’s trivia and to raise money for Out of the Cold – St. Brigid’s Annex. Out of the Cold is a volunteer initiative by Toronto area synagogues, churches and faith communities to serve as Host Sites that offer shelter, hospitality and refuge to people who are homeless in the City of Toronto.
Winners from Cardinal Newman
A huge thanks to everyone who participated as the event raised over $500 for Out of the Cold! Also, special thanks goes to master of ceremonies John Zupancic and his crew for keeping the evening light and festive. Congratulations to the winners from Cardinal Newman High School who won in a tie breaker. This was the closest event ever, with the top four teams within three points of each other. We look forward to hosting another event for Out of the Cold in the spring where Dr. Ted Schmidt promises to make a triumphant return and capture the trophy.
