Toronto Catholic District School Board

For Parents

School Visitor's Procedures

ALL VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICE.  Upon reporting to the office all visitors must sign in and out in order for the office staff to keep track of who is in the school.  There is a Sign In and Out Book in the office for this purpose.   All visitors to the school will obtain a visitor’s tag in order to identify themselves.  All parents dropping off any items or dropping off the children late for school must report to the office before proceeding to the classrooms.  Children leaving school early must be picked up at the office.  This procedure was set up in order to maximize student safety in the school.

NO STUDENTS OR PARENTS ARE TO USE THE FRONT DOOR.

Kindergarten students are dismissed using the first side door next to the Butterfly Garden.  All parents must wait outside these doors. The teachers will be bringing your children to the door.  The Front Door should only be used for the dismissal of the Bus Students.  With the great congestions at the Front door, teachers, at times, cannot tell when a parent has picked up their child or if a child has gone to the bus.  Your child’s safety is our prime concern.  Please help us by waiting at the appropriate door and not congesting the front door area.

Playground after School
Students are not allowed to play in any area of the school yard, including the playground structure, after dismissal time without adult supervision.

Electronics
Students are reminded not to bring expensive toys, musical equipment or electronic devices to school. Lost or stolen items of this nature are not the responsibility of the school.

Bus Loading Zone
We have students who take the school bus.  There are many daily bus runs and often the same buses serve other schools.  Consequently, it is necessary that the students board the bus timely, orderly and safely.  To make this possible, it is imperative that the area marked as a bus-loading zone remain free of cars.  Students are reminded that riding the bus is a privilege.  To maintain this privilege it is imperative that the bus rules are obeyed.
• STUDENTS ARE TO REMAIN IN THEIR SEATS WHILE THE BUS IS MOVING.
• Students may talk in a quiet voice.
• Students are asked to refrain from eating on the bus.
