At St. Joseph’s College School, science students learn about the world in practical and meaningful ways. Through a variety of learning experiences, students develop problem solving skills that further their understanding of scientific concepts and are transferable to every area of their lives. Students are immersed in discussion and investigation of issues and topics that are of current relevance to society on a local, national and global scale. Students are engaged through the use of a variety of learning tools, including various software programs and digital media. Areas of particular focus include the environment, biotechnology, and health care.
A significant portion of students at SJCS choose to study at the Advanced Placement level. These courses provide a more rigorous and challenging environment that thoroughly prepares students for success in university studies. We currently have a great number of former students studying engineering, life sciences, nursing, pharmacy and other scientific fields at university and college. A large number of alumni are now working in careers related to science. We aim to continue to produce skilled and scientifically literate graduates and to continue to bring the world of science alive for our students.
