Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We welcome you and your children to St. Louis Catholic School for the 2021-2022 academic year. We look forward to a return to in-person learning for many of our students. We would like to extend a warm welcome to new families and staff members joining our school community and we are confident that you will enjoy your time here at St. Louis in our dynamic community of learners.

During the school closure in the spring, our parent volunteers were hard at work, planting pollinator gardens and securing grants for additional money to build outdoor learning spaces and whole foods gardens to enrich our student’s learning. Thank you to all those involved in these valuable endeavors, we look forward to the growth and joy these experiences will bring to the community.

It is a pleasure to see the students return with such enthusiasm and to hear the halls and schoolyard once again buzzing with the sounds of laughter, playing and learning. A reminder that at St. Louis, the dress code is navy and white and our school hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We encourage parents and care givers to keep us informed about students' late arrivals and absences. Should your child be away from school for any reason, please call the school at 416-393-5331 or enter it into school messenger.

We work together in partnership with our parish St. Leo’s, to promote the development of the Catholic Graduate Expectations in all our students and identifying and highlighting the Catholic virtues we honor monthly and practice daily. We want each student to feel respected and safe while at our school, and we utilize our school code of conduct and progressive discipline to promote an inclusive environment.

It is our objective to maintain a school imbued with Gospel values, and we integrate our spiritual learning across the curriculum.

This year, we will be celebrating St. Louis’s 75th Anniversary with a Mass and Open House on May 14th, 2022. Throughout the year, we will be learning about the history of St. Louis and the deep roots the school has in this community and in Catholic education.

Thank you for joining us on your child’s educational journey and we look forward to an exciting year ahead.

M. Devlin

Principal of St. Louis Catholic School
