3. How are students selected for St. Michael's Choir School?

Auditions are held once per year, between January and March. Before the audition season begins, representatives from St. Michael's Choir School visit schools across the city to hear boys in grades two and three sing. Students who are identified as potential candidates are given a letter inviting them to an audition. Vocal auditions take place on several Saturdays between January and March at the school at 66 Bond Street. Parents should contact the Choral Office to book an audition for their son.

Students who are successful in their vocal audition will be invited back to write an academic test. Offers of admission are generally received within a few weeks of auditioning.

4. How often will students at St. Michael's Choir School sing?

Students are expected to participate in one Mass at St. Michael's Cathedral every weekend. Senior choir members have the option of singing Mass on either Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Students should expect additional performances during the Christmas period. Vocal training is a part of day-to-day education at St. Michael's Choir School.
