Conductor Biographies

Ms. Teri Dunn, Conductor, Elementary Choir and Senior Saturday Choir
  
MS. DUNN.BMPTeri Dunn conducts the Elementary, Tenor Bass and Saturday Senior Choirs at St. Michael’s Choir School. She is a recipient of the Leslie Bell Prize in Choral Conducting, and has held conducting positions with the Toronto Children’s Chorus, the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus, Royal Conservatory of Music, and Hart House Chorus (University of Toronto). Her choirs have appeared at Carnegie Hall, the Toronto International Choral Festival, with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and on the recording A Classical Kid’s Christmas. An acclaimed soloist, Ms. Dunn has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Tafelmusik,  and with many other Canadian ensembles. She has recordings on Centrediscs and Naxos, and was a prize-winner in the Eckhardt-Grammatté Competition. 
 
In addition to being the Elementary Choir conductor at St. Michael’s Choir School, Ms. Dunn is currently the Assistant Artistic Director of the acclaimed Toronto Children’s Chorus. She has also held conducting positions with the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus, Royal Conservatory of Music, Hart House Chorus, and at St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Choirs Ontario’s Children’s Choir Camp. Her choirs have appeared at the Toronto International Choral Festival, at Carnegie Hall, with the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, with the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and on “A Classical Kids Christmas”.
 
An acclaimed soloist, Ms. Dunn has performed in the US, Europe, Britain and has appeared locally with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, New Music Concerts, Guelph Spring Festival, Festival Vancouver, Soundstreams .She has recordings for Naxos and Centrediscs and was a prize-winner in the Eckhardt-Grammatté Competition in 1999.
 
In May 2002, Ms. Dunn received the prestigious Leslie Bell Prize in Choral Conducting, awarded by Choirs Ontario.
 
 

 Mr. William O'Meara, Organist - St. Michael's Cathedral and Teacher

 
MR. O'MEARA.BMPWilliam O’Meara Organist at St. Michael’s Cathedral and teacher at St. Michael’s Choir School, Mr. O’Meara has performed at festivals and concert series throughout North and South America, Europe and Russia. Solo engagements include the International Organ Music Festival (Perm, Russia), St. Paul’s Cathedral (London, UK), Harvard University (Cambridge, USA), São Bento International Organ Festival (São Paulo, Brazil), Trnava Organ Days (Slovakia) and the Warsaw International Organ Festival. He has performed for many years with the Laughton & O’Meara trumpet and organ duo. He is also well known for his improvised accompaniments for pre-1930s silent films.
