TCDSB Teams Qualify For Championship Round Of Skills Ontario Hovercraft Competition

Three teams from the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) have qualified to compete at the Skills Ontario Cardboard Hovercraft Provincial Championship Race. Two of the teams are from Loretto College, and one is from St. Michael's Choir School. Students will be challenged to build hovercrafts that can move, race and carry weight. They are also judged on their planning skills, accuracy, professionalism and construction. This virtual competition will see students participate from their schools.

More than 800 secondary students in the TCDSB will have access to materials to try out the Hovercraft Challenge themselves, as a part of Experiential Learning Funding. Educators and students are encouraged to check out similar challenges on the Skills Ontario website to engage in some hands-on learning.

We wish all competitors good luck in the Provincial Championship!
