A Celebration of Culture and Community
Blessed Mother Teresa Hosts Annual International Night
On Thursday May 8, 2014 Blessed Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School (BMT) will host its much anticipated Annual International Night, showcasing 10 caravan-style pavilions: South Africa, Columbia, Korea, Spain, Jamaica, India, Sri Lanka, China, Philippines and of course Canada.
BMT’s International Night has been the talk of the Malvern community for over 20 years. It celebrates the multinational flavour of the school, as well as the diversity of the Scarborough community in which it is located. International Night attendees enjoy that feeling of “home away from home” as they walk through each pavilion. They experience the cultural traditions of their peers and sample tasty dishes from around the world. The evening’s highlight is an outstanding cultural performance by BMT’s students.
Students and teachers begin preparations for this festivity months in advance to ensure that their own pavilion is the talk of this event. Participants all vie for the coveted title of “Pavilion of the Year” and newly added category this year of “Top Performance”
International Night Program (Admission at the door $8.00 for adults; Children (under 10) $5.00.
