Visit from Director of Jesuit Refugee Service (Eastern African Region)


Fr. Endashaw Debrework, S.J. Regional Director for the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) in Eastern Africa will be visiting Canada November 28-30 to speak out about the need for support of displaced people in East Africa. Fr. Debrework, originally from Ethiopia, is a Jesuit priest who oversees the work of JRS in five countries (Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Sudan and Ethiopia) and a global advocate for social justice and policy issues pertaining to refugees and displaced persons.
Canadian Jesuits International, which supports the work of JRS in Eastern Africa, will be hosting a public event along with JRS Canada, St. Michael’s College Campus Ministry, the Mary Ward Centre and Romero House. Fr. Debrework will speak on Tuesday, November 29 at 7:00pm, at St. Michael’s College, 81 St. Mary St.
