Toronto Catholic District School Board

St. Patrick Secondary School Renovation Update
The latest round of air quality testing was conducted on May 9, 2014 by Decommissioning Consulting Services (DCS). The report was issued on May, 12, 2014 and is available HERE.
The air sample testing was conducted on Friday May 9, 2014 from approximately 6:33 pm to 8:43 pm in the Administrative Area, which incorporates the Office, Guidance, and Library (Book Stacks) spaces. These samples were taken with the HVAC (air handling system) unit in full operation, and after it had been functioning continuously for a 24 hour period (Thursday May 8 to Friday, May 9, 2014).
Consistent with the other air quality tests performed to date,  the results showed a finding of (0) or NO detectable asbestos fibres.
The Ontario Ministry of Environment (MOE) applies an ambient (normal outdoor air) air quality value of 0.04 asbestos fibres per cubic centimetre of air (fibres longer than 5 μm). The report result of .0035 μm is well below the level detectable in regular outdoor fresh air.
