St. Paul VI celebrates Canonization of Pope Paul VI and Renaming of School
On Monday, October 14, students, staff and parents came together at St. Paul VI to celebrate the canonization of Pope Paul VI and the renaming of the school from Blessed Pope Paul VI to St. Paul VI. Father Bruno Kesangana and Most Reverend Bishop Robert Kasun led Mass to begin the celebration. Once done, Chair of the Board, Barbara Poplawski kicked off the event with opening remarks followed by remarks from Trustee, Frank D’Amico, Superintendent, John Wujek and Director of Education Rory McGuckin.
Before revealing the school’s new banner, a video was showcased to commemorate St. Paul’s contributions to the Catholic community and outlined the importance of his work to the school community, and how students can aim to learn through his teachings. The new school banner was then revealed to the community. Principal, Liliana Lio then gave closing remarks and guests enjoyed refreshments.
