Notes on Translation The electronic translation service on the Toronto Catholic District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. Dear Parents and Guardians:
I am pleased to inform you that the Toronto Catholic District School Board will be offering French Immersion (FI) for students in Junior and Senior Kindergarten beginning in September 2018 at the following elementary schools: St. Brigid, St. Alphonsus, St. Rita, St. Mary and St. Louis. The decision to implement the program in these schools was made at the December 7, 2017 Meeting of the Board.
You are receiving this letter because you reside within the FI program boundary and are eligible to apply for the Kindergarten FI program offered at St. Rita. This FI registration option is open to any student who:
- Is currently a JK student who resides within the regional boundary of the newly designated FI location and is attending an elementary school within this boundary;
- Is a new registration for JK or SK for the 2018-19 school year and resides within the regional boundary of a newly designated FI location.
If your child is currently a JK student at St. Rita or if your child is a JK student in another school within the FI boundary for St. Rita and are interested in applying to the SK/FI program at St. Rita, you must complete an online application requesting the FI program when registration begins.
Registration for the FI program offered at these new locations will begin on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM EST using the Student Online Application for Registration (S.O.A.R.). The application is found on the TCDSB website at https://soar.tcdsb.org. We understand that many families will be interested in this new program. Every effort will be made to accommodate students where possible. All applications will be processed in accordance with the Admissions Policy which can be found on the Board’s website at www.tcdsb.org.
Important note for children currently enrolled in JK: Your child will have a secured placement in the SK regular English track program at your current school should you choose not to apply to the FI program.
To learn more about this new program a French Immersion information night will be held on January 11, 2018 at 7:00pm at St. Rita.

Prezados Pais e Encarregados de Educação:
Tenho o prazer de vos informar que o Toronto Catholic District School Board irá oferecer Imersão em Francês (FI – sigla em inglês) aos alunos da Junior e da Senior Kindergarten a começar em setembro de 2018 nas seguintes escolas elementares: St. Brigid, St. Alphonsus, St. Rita, St. Mary e St. Louis. A decisão de implementar o programa nestas escolas foi tomada na Reunião do Conselho de 7 de dezembro de 2017.
Estão a receber esta carta porque residem na área do FI e são elegíveis para se inscrever no FI da Kindergarten em St. Rita. Esta opção de inscrição para o FI está aberta a qualquer aluno que:
- É atualmente um aluno da JK, que reside na área regional do local recentemente designado para o FI, e que está a frequentar uma escola elementar nesta zona;
- É um novo aluno matriculado na JK ou SK para o ano letivo 2018-2019 e que reside na área regional do local recentemente designado para o FI.
Se o vosso filho ou filha está atualmente na JK em St. Rita ou se ele/ela está na JK noutra escola que pertença à área do FI de St. Rita e estão interessados em matriculá-lo(a) no programa da SK/FI em St. Rita, deverão preencher o formulário online solicitando o programa FI, quando as inscrições começarem.
As inscrições para o programa FI, que é oferecido nestas novas escolas, começam na quarta-feira, 17 de janeiro de 2018 às 10h EST (Hora Padrão de Leste) através do Student Online Application for Registration (S.O.A.R.). O formulário encontra-se na website do TCDSB: https://soar.tcdsb.org. Temos conhecimento que muitas famílias estão interessadas neste novo programa. Todos os esforços serão feitos para acomodar os alunos sempre que possível. As inscrições serão processadas de acordo com a Política de Admissões que se encontra na website da Direção Escolar: www.tcdsb.org.
Nota importante para as crianças matriculadas atualmente na JK: A vossa criança terá uma colocação assegurada no programa regular de inglês da SK na vossa escola atual se decidirem não optar pelo programa FI.
Para ficarem melhor informados sobre este novo programa, será realizada uma noite informativa sobre a Imersão em Francês a 11 de janeiro de 2018 às 19h em St. Rita.
