Notes on Translation The electronic translation service on the Toronto Catholic District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation's goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. The Toronto Catholic District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make. The Toronto Catholic District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I hope that you had a restful summer. As a newly appointed principal, I am excited to be a member of this amazing school community.
We welcome back all our families, as well as welcome all our new families joining Sts. Cosmas and Damian Catholic School. You, the parents, and guardians, play the most important role in ensuring that your child succeeds. You are their first teachers. We thank you, our partners, for your effort in supporting your child’s education.
We know that the unique challenges presented by COVID-19 have been difficult for everyone, and most particularly our students. Please be assured that the health and well-being of our students and staff are vitally important to us. We are continuing to follow the direction of public health officials, the Ministry of Education and our own Health and Safety Department, as well as the Board's Mental Health and Psychology teams.
We want to ensure that the school year is as normal as we can make it for your children, and that all students are given the opportunity to learn and succeed in whatever learning environment you have chosen for your family.
We continue with our three-year TCDSB Pastoral Plan “Rooted in Christ: We Belong, We Believe, We Become”; with a focus on “We Become”. Following the Great Commission of Christ in the Gospel of Matthew – “Go and make disciples of all nations”, we shall focus on our vocation as people called to Christian discipleship, to service and to mission.
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church plays an integral role in the faith development of our students as well. The spiritual leadership that they provide through monthly masses and sacramental preparation unite us as people of faith.
We welcome the involvement of our parents and guardians through the Catholic School Parent Council (CSPC). Parents are an integral part in the school community. We encourage you to join and attend meetings.
Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns. Follow us on twitter @TCDSB @Stscosmasanddam
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience. We wish you and your families good health and God’s blessings.
Yours in education,
E. Della Mea
Principal
