CSPC - Catholic School Parent Council


With approval from the Board, the Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) recently underwent a name change to Catholic School Parents Council (CPSC). News items & resource documents uploaded prior to September 1st, 2015 may have their titles changed to reflect Catholic School Parents Council (CSPC), the text contained within the documents and pages may still contain the name Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC).  Please note that these two titles are synonymous.
 
In the spirit of the Mission and Vision Statements of the Toronto Catholic District School Board, the St. Simon Catholic School Parent Council functions in an advisory role to enrich, enhance and improve student education and achievement.  As well, The Council enhances the accountability of the education system to parents by making recommendations to the Principal, working in consultation with the Principal collaboratively, and where appropriate, other aspects of CSPC work, the Board on any matter in accordance with the Education Act and the Policies, Guidelines and Operating Procedures of the Board.

Here at St. Simon our CSPC is very active in much of our children(s) curriculum and in many circumstances support the school and our children financially.  We are fortunate enough to be able to do this largely because of the generosity of our Community in supporting our fundraising initiatives.  Our CSPC is comprised of 15 members at large, including one Parish Liaison and one Community Representative.  Within the 15 members, there are four Executive positions, Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.  Currently our Executive is comprised of:

Our meetings usually occur monthly on the first Wednesday of every month at 7pm in the library. Participation at all levels is encouraged.  We are constantly working on projects for the school year and are often in need of volunteers and input.  Please help play a special part in your child's education---join us!
