Safety Measures:

All doors will be locked at all times. Please use the entry buzzer near the front door. All parents and visitors are required to visit the office and sign in. If a parent needs to see his/her child, the secretary will call the child to the office, where the parent must wait. If parents require assistance or need to speak to a teacher we will have the teacher come to the office. If the teacher is not available, we request that parents set up an appointment with the teacher, or communicate by telephone.

Safe Arrival and Departure:

If you need to keep your child home, it is very important that you please contact the school before 8:30 a.m. or 11:50 p.m.  The school answering machine will accept calls at 416-393-5284. Parents must continue to pick-up and drop-off their children in the playground. All children, except bus students, will be dismissed with their class, exiting through their door into the school yard. Children are not to exit through the front doors.

In order to achieve a safe school environment, we ask that all visitors and parents enter only through the front doors and report directly and sign in at the office.  Although we may know you, remember you are a stranger to the students.  Parents and visitors are asked not to go directly to student classrooms or pass the office but rather to wait for teachers in the office. This will eliminate trespassers, reduce the traffic in the corridors and prevent unnecessary interruptions in the classrooms.    If parents pick up a bus student at the end of the day they MUST sign that child out in the office.  If you have any concerns, please contact the teacher or the principal.

Parents who are dropping off their children late must drop them off at the office for a late-slip and we will get them to class.  Students who stay for lunch are not allowed to leave the school. Students who go home for lunch should not return to school before 12:40 p.m.

Pizza Fridays:

Pizza lunch begins Friday October 1st. and will continue on each following Friday unless otherwise notified. Students are required to order and pay for their pizza each Friday morning.

Peanut Allergies:

Please do not send any snacks (cookies, chocolate bars, etc.) or sandwiches containing Nutella, or peanut butter to school. In the interest of many of our students who have life-threatening allergies, we would like to eliminate them entirely from our classrooms. If your child eats any peanut product before school, please make sure that his/her hands are properly washed before they come to school. Any peanut residue left on crayons, toys, games, desks or door handles could be fatal.
