At the Toronto Catholic District School Board’s (TCDSB) Caucus meeting on November 27, 2023, Nancy Crawford, Trustee for Ward 12 was confirmed as Chair and Markus de Domenico, Trustee for Ward 2 was confirmed as Vice-Chair.
Nancy Crawford was first elected as a TCDSB Ward 12 Trustee in 2010. In her time as a Trustee, Nancy has chaired all Standing Committees and served on the Angel Foundation for Learning Board of Directors, as well as the Nurturing Our Catholic Community Advisory Panel. She championed the Ministry of Education required performance appraisal process for the Director and previously served as the Chair of Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). Nancy is an active member of St. Brigid’s Parish and is driven to a life of community service.
"I am so honoured to lead Toronto Catholic for a second term as Chair and my commitment lies in fortifying the connections among schools, parishes, and homes, rooted in the love of Christ. She added, "I pledge to work closely with the Vice-Chair and my fellow Trustees, centering our decisions around students' needs. Our collective effort will focus on nurturing the faith development and academic excellence of our Catholic learning community through the love of God, neighbour, and self."
Markus de Domenico was first elected as a TCDSB Ward 2 Trustee in 2018 and has served on numerous committees including Chair of Student Achievement, Governance and Policy, Labour Relations, and the Angel Foundation for Learning. Markus served as the Treasurer of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario from 2020-2023 and was recently appointed to Director of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. He is a JUNO Award Nominee and appeared on CBC’s Mr. Dressup, Fred Penner’s Place and Treehouse TV.
