The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) is deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of Canada and the head of the Commonwealth, as well as its realms.
She will be remembered for her selfless duty and service to so many of us all over the world. As the Head of State for Canada, Queen Elizabeth II played an important role in the most significant historical periods of our country.
She was also the longest-serving monarch after assuming the throne in 1952. To honour her legacy to our country, all flags at TCDSB schools and facilities will be lowered to half-mast as a sign of respect.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all members of the Royal Family during this most difficult time. As a Catholic community, we pray that the Lord continues to guide and provide them with comfort and solace during this period of mourning.
