Welcome to Continuing Education
The Toronto Catholic District School Board offers credit courses under the OSS curriculum guidelines. Parents and students must consult with their day school guidance counsellor regarding their course selections, prerequisite courses and diploma requirements. Course selections must be made in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines. Diploma requirements and course descriptions are listed on the Ontario Ministry of Education Web site: www.edu.gov.on.ca 

 

The TCDSB reserves the right to cancel or relocate a class. A preliminary list of cancelled courses will be available on Friday, October 7th. It is the student's responsibility to check our online program flyer for a list of all cancelled and relocated classes.
 
Night School Credit Courses Semester 1 runs from September to January.
Night School Credit Courses Semester 2 runs from February to June.

 

Saturday School - Secondary International Languages Credit Courses program runs from Saturday, September 23, 2017 to Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
 
We are offering the following type of credits this semester:

​New Credit ​These courses enable students to obtain one full credit toward their diploma in a subject that was not previously taken. Students may register for a maximum of three new credit courses (Example: one eClass and one in-class Night/Saturday courses or two in-class night school and one Saturday school courses at separate locations.) Saturday School for Secondary International Language Credit courses runs from Saturday, September 23, 2017 to Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration closes for Saturday Schools on Saturday, October 28, 2017.

Attendance, Marks and Report Cards 

 

ATTENDANCE

Attendance for the first class confirms the student's registration and secures the registrant's place in that class. Students who do not attend the first class forfeit their place in the class and will be placed on the waiting list. Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory. Please contact the school regarding attendance inquiries.

 

EVALUATION

All students will be required to write a final exam. Students that are unable to fulfill this condition will be considered not to have completed the course.
 

DISTRIBUTION OF REPORT CARDS

Students MUST PICK-UP their report cards during the last session of classes for Night and Saturday courses. Report cards will not be mailed home. Students enrolled in an eClass Online Learning course will be provided the date, time and location of when report cards will be ready for pick-up on the NEWS section on their classroom website.
 
NON-TCDSB Students: Students MUST bring their report card to their home school or transcript office. Contact your school board or guidance department regarding this procedure. The homeschool or transcript office will add the course to the transcript or upload to OUAC.
 
A copy of the report card may be obtained by calling the Continuing Education Department. A $10.00 fee will apply. Additional copies of your report card can be obtained by using the Report Card Request Form. A $10.00 fee will apply.

Course Fees

International students must register in person at the Catholic Education Center, 80 Sheppard Avenue East (Sheppard Ave. E & Yonge St.). TEXTBOOK DEPOSIT

A textbook deposit of $80 is required for Grade 10, 11 and ELD courses. Monies will be refunded at the end of the course provided that borrowed materials are returned in good condition. Students enrolled in a Grade 12 course are required to obtain their own books. A book list will be provided by the teacher on the first session of classes. There are no textbook fees for eClass Online Learning courses.

Registration 

All students can register for night and Saturday school courses starting on Friday, September 1st until Friday, October 6th, 2017. Based on enrolment, Night School/eClass courses will be cancelled or redirected on September 25th. Students may register for a maximum of three courses. They can consist of eClass, Saturday or evening courses. Note: We will accept students up to Friday, October 6th if space is available. Proof of registration and photo ID will be requested on the first session of classes.
Note*: There will be NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. 
 

Registration Procedures: Current TCDSB Students

TO REGISTER:

  1. Visit your guidance department for a blank registration form or print one from our
    website. Submit a completed registration form to your day school guidance counsellor.
  2. Obtain a Continuing Ed. timetable print-out and a copy of your registration form from your guidance counsellor which indicates that you have been registered. This is
    your confirmation receipt that you have been registered successfully.
  3. Please bring your completed registration form and your Continuing Ed. timetable
    print-out on the first day of classes. Students taking eClass courses do not need to submit their registration documentation as these items are automatically submitted upon completion of step 2. For more information visit the eClass Online Learning Page.

Please Note:
This is a course request registration site. By entering this site you are submitting a request to be considered for registration. You are not officially registered into the course until you have submitted the necessary paper work. An acceptance to register email will only be sent to your provided email address if we have space to accommodate you into the course that you have requested. 
 
Current TCDSB students CANNOT register online.
