The Toronto Catholic District School Board offers credit courses under the OSS curriculum guidelines. Parents and students must consult with their day school guidance counsellor or vice-principal/principal regarding their course selections, prerequisite courses and diploma requirements. Course selections must be made in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines. The TCDSB reserves the right to cancel a class.  A preliminary list of cancelled courses will be available on Friday, June 21, 2021. It is the student's responsibility to check our website for a list of all cancelled classes.

We are offering the following type of credits this semester:

​Types of Courses ​Description

​​Open to all high school students and adults with the appropriate pre-requisites, students may take a new credit, or re-take a course previously attempted to upgrade a mark. Students may register for a maximum total of two new credit courses this summer or a combination of up to two upgrading courses during session 1 and one new credit course in session 2.
*Please note: Career Studies (GLC 2O3) and Civics and Citizenship (CHV 2O3) are two separate half credit courses. Each half credit course follows the same timelines as a new credit course; therefore, students are expected to participate in each half credit course for the entire session. Students interested in these half credit courses must register in these courses separately.

*Please note: You must have completed and have a successful mark in the prerequisite course (if applicable) to apply for a new credit course.

​UPGRADING CREDIT COURSES: ​These courses enable students to obtain one full credit by repeating 55 hours of instruction. Students must have a minimum mark of 35%. Students may register for a maximum of two upgrading credit courses this summer during session one remote learning in either morning (AM) or afternoon (PM) time slots.
This summer we are offering two different models of course delivery:
Remote Learning

Program Date:

Session 1: July 5 to July 28, 2021

Type of Courses & Times:

New Credit: All day - 8:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
Upgrading session: AM - 8:30 a.m. to 11:34 a.m.
Upgrading session: PM - 12:16 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.
These courses are offered through a mixture of synchronous (80%) and asynchronous (20%) instruction. The synchronous component of classes will be use either Brightspace D2L or Google Classroom with Zoom or Google Meets.
Synchronous Learning occurs when the teacher interacts with a student or group of students in real-time either online or through other means in relation to the course content, lessons, or assessment tools.
Students are expected to be connected to their class during the posted times.

Monday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 27
eClass Online learning

Program Dates:

Session 1:  June 30 to July 30, 2021
Session 2:  July 21 to August 20, 2021

Type of Courses:

New Credit and Upgrading courses
These courses are offered through an asynchronous online learning model using Brightspace D2L. Asynchronous Learning does not occur in-real time. Students respond to course content, lessons, or assessments typically through accessing the learning platform where the teacher has placed these activities.
Although this can seem to look like independent work, ideas, response, and feedback can still occur. The feedback does not happen simultaneously with the teacher.
St​udents are expected to log in daily. ​

Final Exam/Culminating Activity Dates: (Details to be posted by your teacher)​​
Session 1: Wednesday, July 28 and Thursday, July 29
Session 2: Wednesday, August 18 and Thursday, August 19​

Additional Program Information 



Regular attendance and participation in the course content by logging into the learning management platform setup by your teacher are mandatory. Remote Learning: Students are expected to log in on during the days and times posted above. eClass Online Learning: Students are expected to log in daily. Students who do not login on the first session of classes may forfeit their place in the course. 



All students will be required to complete a final assessment.  Students that are unable to fulfill this condition will be considered not to have completed the course. Please check with your teacher for details on the final assessment. 


The announcement of report card pickup will be posted on your classroom website. TCDSB students will have their marks automatically uploaded to their home school and TCDSB grade 12 students will have their marks automatically uploaded to OUAC/OCAS sites on specific dates which will be posted on your classroom website.
NON-TCDSB Students: Students MUST bring their report card to their home school or transcript office. Contact your school board or guidance department/vice-principal/principal regarding this procedure. The homeschool or transcript office will add the course to the transcript or upload to OUAC/OCAS.
A copy of the report card may be obtained by calling the Continuing Education Department.  Additional copies of your report card can be obtained by using the Report Card Request Form.


PLEASE NOTE: The final opportunity to review and discuss summer school results with your teacher is:
Session 1 – Remote Learning: Wednesday, July 28th

Session 1 – eClass Online Learning: Friday, July 30th

Session 2 – eClass Online Learning: Friday, August 20th
NO MARKS will be re-evaluated after the review date.

Course Fees

Non-TCDSB International VISA students must email us at for additional registration information. There are no course fees for Ontario students. 

Registration Procedures

All students can register for our summer school remote and eClass online learning courses starting on Tuesday, May 4th. Cancelled courses will be posted by evening of Friday, June 25. Course availability will be updated on our website as information becomes available.
We encourage all students to register before June 21st.
Note*: There will be NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION.

  • Save/download and complete a registration form or visit your guidance department for a blank registration form. Submit a completed registration form to your day school guidance counsellor. Please use Adobe Acrobat DC ( and save the file as a different file name before submitting.

  • After your guidance department has processed your completed registration form, the system will generate a Continuing Ed. timetable print-out to your TCDSB.CA email address. This is your confirmation receipt that you have been registered successfully. 

Registration Procedures: NON-TCDSB Students


This is a course request registration site. By entering this site you are submitting a request to be considered for registration. You are not officially registered into the course until you have submitted the necessary paper work. An acceptance to register email will only be sent to your provided email address if we have space to accommodate you into the course that you have requested. Submit your completed registration package to 


Current TCDSB students CANNOT register online.  
Online registration is only for NON-TCDSB students.
