Night & Saturday School 2018: Fall Semester 1

The Toronto Catholic District School Board offers credit courses under the OSS curriculum guidelines. Parents and students must consult with their day school guidance counsellor regarding their course selections, prerequisite courses and diploma requirements. Course selections must be made in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines. Diploma requirements and course descriptions are listed on the Ontario Ministry of Education Web site: www.edu.gov.on.ca 

 

The TCDSB reserves the right to cancel or relocate a class.  A preliminary list of cancelled courses will be available on Friday, September 28, 2018. It is the student's responsibility to check our website for a list of all cancelled and relocated classes.

We are offering the following type of credits this semester:
​Types of Courses ​Description
​New Credit ​These courses enable students to obtain one full credit toward their diploma in a subject that was not previously taken. Students may register for a maximum of three new credit courses (Example: one eClass (*only Adult Learners, part-time and private school students are allowed to apply for eClass this term) and one in-class Night/Saturday courses or two in-class night school and one Saturday school courses at separate locations.) Attendance, Evaluation and Report Cards 

 

ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory. Students who do not attend the first session of classes may forfeit their place in the course. To report an absence, please contact the school during operating hours to report an absence or to inquire about their child’s attendance. eClass students who are unable to login must email eregister@tcdsb.org

 

EVALUATION

All students will be required to write a final exam. Students that are unable to fulfill this condition will be considered not to have completed the course.
 

DISTRIBUTION OF REPORT CARDS

Students MUST PICK-UP their report cards during the last session of classes for Night and Saturday courses. Report cards will not be mailed home. Students enrolled in an eClass Online Learning course will be provided the date, time and location of when report cards will be ready for pick-up on the NEWS section on their classroom website.
 
NON-TCDSB Students: Students MUST bring their report card to their home school or transcript office. Contact your school board or guidance department regarding this procedure. The homeschool or transcript office will add the course to the transcript or upload to OUAC.
 
A copy of the report card may be obtained by calling the Continuing Education Department. A $10.00 fee will apply. Additional copies of your report card can be obtained by using the Report Card Request Form. A $10.00 fee will apply.

Course Fees

International VISA students: Please register with your guidance counsellor at your school. If you register for more than one course, please call  416-222-8282 ext. 2161 to schedule an appointment and  pay the applicable tuition Fees. There are no course fees for Ontario students.

Registration 

All students can register for night, Saturday and eClass Online Learning courses starting on Friday, August 31st. Based on enrolment, courses will be cancelled or redirected on September 28th.  Students may register for a maximum of three courses. Proof of registration and photo ID may be requested on the first session of classes. Registration closes for Night School and eClass Online Learning on Friday, October 12, 2018. Registration closes for Saturday School on Saturday, October 27, 2018.

Note*: There will be NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. 
 

Registration Procedures: Current TCDSB Students

TO REGISTER:

  1. Visit your guidance department for a blank registration form. Submit a completed registration form to your day school guidance counsellor. 
  2. After submitting a completed registration form, obtain a Continuing Ed. timetable print-out from your guidance counsellor. This is your confirmation receipt that you have been registered successfully.

Registration Procedures: NON-TCDSB Students

TO REGISTER:

This is a course request registration site. By entering this site you are submitting a request to be considered for registration. You are not officially registered into the course until you have submitted the necessary paper work. An acceptance to register email will only be sent to your provided email address if we have space to accommodate you into the course that you have requested. 
 
Current TCDSB students CANNOT register online.
