Our Namesake

Pier Giorgio Frassati was beatified in May 1990. Known for his deep spirituality and commitment to social justice, he joined the St. Vincent de Paul Society in 1918 and dedicated his life to serving the poor and sick. He aspired to become a mining engineer to better serve Christ among workers and was active in Catholic student and political organizations.

In 1922, he joined the Dominican Third Order, taking the name Girolamo. He died at age 24 from poliomyelitis, likely contracted while caring for the sick. His life continues to inspire our school community to live with compassion, faith, and service.
