St. Barbara Catholic School is a school community of God's people bound together by a faith in Jesus Christ. Our mission is to educate all our students in the fullness of God's grace through the celebration of His sacraments. Through the prayers and active participation of our students, teachers, and parents, we carry out this mission with a spirit of determination and joy.
About Our School
St. Augustine Catholic School fosters a welcoming, faith-filled environment where Catholic symbols, daily prayer, liturgies, and regular visits from the priest of St. Rose of Lima Parish help strengthen students' spiritual growth. New students and families are warmly welcomed as valued members of our school community.
Student safety and well-being are supported through a Safe Arrival Program, staff supervision throughout the school day, and a Code of Behaviour and dress code that promote respect, responsibility, and positive relationships.
Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum to enhance student learning, while staff participate in ongoing professional learning to ensure instructional practices remain current and effective.
We are committed to meeting the diverse needs of all learners through differentiated instruction, curriculum accommodations and modifications, and enrichment opportunities. The School-Based Support Team (SBST) works collaboratively with teachers and families to support students' academic, social, and emotional development. When additional support is required, specialized staff work together to determine appropriate interventions, assessments, and programming. English as a Second Language (ESL) services are available to support multilingual learners.
Peace and Pro Awards
By highlighting a virtue each month, (such as hospitality, forgiveness, gratitude, compassion, justice, etc.) our students are reminded of our Catholic teachings. Two students per grade (Grade 1 to 6) are awarded each month with a Pro or Peace Award based on their implementations of the virtue of the month.

School Motto: Growing together in faith
St. Barbara, a virgin and martyr, is the patron saint of architects, builders, and masons, and is traditionally invoked for protection against storms and sudden death. Although little is known with certainty about her life, she is remembered through a popular medieval legend dating back to the early centuries of Christianity.
According to tradition, St. Barbara was the daughter of a wealthy Roman named Dioscorus, who confined her to a tower. While it was under construction, she asked the builders to add a third window as a symbol of the Holy Trinity, revealing her Christian faith. Her feast day is celebrated on December 4.
At St. Barbara Catholic School, our mission is to let Christ's light shine in all that we do. Through liturgies, prayer services, charitable initiatives such as our Giving Tree, service to others, and a welcoming, inclusive community rooted in compassion, forgiveness, and the Good News of the Gospel, we strive to bring our school community closer to Christ.
